Did you know that there are healthy rituals you can use to avoid jet lag? When we fly across time zones the body’s physiological patterns are often disrupted, but this can be avoided with a few helpful tips.  The American Council on Exercise suggests the following:

1. Arrive one day prior to meetings.

2. Try remaining awake till 10 p.m. upon arrival.

3. Talk to your doc about sleep medication to help you get back on track after your flight.

4. Three days prior to flying avoid alcohol and caffeine, and lower you caloric and carbohydrate  consumption.

5. Fast on the day departure and have breakfast upon arrival.

6. Try stretching during the flight with seated abductors, shoulder stretches, shrugs and neck flexions and extensions.
